ARTS & MEDIA FOR SOCIAL ACTION

Arts for social action has been a part of REACH LA's vision since its inception in 1992. Utilizing music, video and slide projections at Club Prophylactive, REACH LA utilized technology to appeal to and teach youth about HIV/AIDS at a time when schools and doctors were unsure and afraid to educate the public about the epidemic. REACH LA's founders instilled the philosophy of reaching youth through their own portal of culture. Through multi-media projects that support personal voice and youth experience, REACH LA continues to provide opportunities for creative expression that raise social awareness.

Youth Arts Programs
